Sr. Managing Partner
Mr. Allen co-founded and serves as Sr. Managing Partner of Druid Capital Partners, LLC. He brings more than 27 years of experience as an engineer, attorney, and investment professional with an independent oil and gas company, family office and alternative asset manager.
Prior to forming Druid Capital, Mr. Allen co-founded and served as Managing Partner of Lucas Capital Management’s private equity funds, LEV I, LEV II & LEV III. He has served as manager of Laurus Oil LLC and NGP Lucas LLC, and serves on the board or serves board level functions to portfolio companies, including Sequel Energy, LLC, Typhoon Energy LLC, Mississippi Resources, LLC, Savant Alaska, LLC, Bakken Energy LLC and Three Forks Energy LLC. He joined Lucas Capital Management in 2004, continuing his focus on private investing. From 2001–2004, Mr. Allen served Frontier Enterprises, LLC, a Tuscaloosa, Alabama based family office, as attorney and asset manager focusing on private equity ventures, including serving board level functions to Miller Dyer Resources LLC, River Gas Company LLC and Berry Wood Products, LLC. From 1994–2000, Mr. Allen served as General Counsel to River Gas Corporation, an exploration and production company operating over 900 wells in Alabama, Utah and Wyoming, where he was responsible for significant transactions, legal, regulatory, land, risk management and human resources. From 1988–1994, Mr. Allen worked at the law firm Astrella & Rice in Denver, where his practice included corporate and mineral law.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1986 from Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado, and law degree in 1990 from University of Colorado School of Law in Boulder, Colorado.
